Since 2021, I have been a freelance correspondent in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Already during my training at the Cologne School of Journalism, I traveled to the country for a blog project, and later returned for my master’s thesis during my studies in International Relations at the TU Dresden.
Today, I work for Deutsche Welle, among others. I am interested in topics related to climate change in Central Africa. This includes rainforests, raw materials for the energy transition and the question of reconciling development and environmental protection. I also keep an eye on current politics. A selection of my work can be found here.
I research, write texts and produce video and radio content. For more extensive visual assignments, I cooperate with local colleagues. I also support media professionals who want to realize stories in the DRC.
I have completed security training with the German Bundeswehr. As a foreign journalist, I am accredited with the Congolese Ministry of Media.
I am part of weltreporter, a collective of German speaking foreign correspondents. I am a board member of journalists.network, an association that supports young professionals in foreign reporting.
